Teamleader/Senior Accountant needed for Malta

Our client is a young accounting firm in expansion phase with offices in Stockholm and Malta.
They use Fortnox and work completely digitally with bookkeeping and accounting.
Even though they work digitally, they focus on personal service and customer contact.
They cater to the Swedish market and take their guidelines from SRF and FAR.

They are now looking for a Senior Accountant/Team Leader to join their great team here in Malta!

More about the position

As a Team Leader with us, you will manage and allocate work and have staff responsibility for a team of 7 accountants.
You will be meticulous and responsible and passionate about creating a community in your workplace. You will have worked for at least 8 years in current accounting, financial statement preparation and reporting, annual reports and income declarations for small and large companies. We would like you to have worked in an agency for at least 3 years.
You feel that you want to take the next step in your development by helping and managing staff and being the spider in the web regarding internal competence and planning towards clients.
You work in a structured way and see solutions and new opportunities for improvement in different work situations. You are proactive and have good collaboration skills and see the value in delivering with good quality.

Your role includes

Coordination of the daily work with the economists
Providing qualified advice on financial issues, such as budgeting and costing
Internal advice and training of staff
Performing work on more advanced clients and being involved in problem solving of more difficult client assignments
The role requires a strong ability to take responsibility and create commitment within the team.
You will report to the COO and be part of the management team.

Your profile

You have a financial education from College or University at a relevant level and a few years of experience working with accounting in an accounting firm. It is a plus if you have had previous experience working in a similar role.
To be successful in this role, you need to have excellent accounting and financial skills, strong interpersonal skills, good leadership skills and be a team player. You have a strong professional commitment and you are motivated to influence and drive your own, the office's and your clients' development. You are structured and appreciate order and tidiness.
