Our client is looking for a game back-end/logic engine developer who will work as part of a team to deliver high quality, innovative casino games content. You will be encouraged to form strong relationships within the team and work closely with external platform and operator teams. The team comprises Product, Math, Creative, Front and Back-End Development, QA, Compliance and the project delivery team. You will be expected to follow best software engineering practices including TDD, code reviews, refactoring and pairing. An enthusiasm for learning new skills and continuous improvement is essential. You will collaborate effectively with team members within or outside the team, work with your own initiative and be accountable for your deliverables, within the team's guidelines. Responsibilities
The team is currently focussing on working against the Gamesys Engage Platform which will allow us to deliver content to the entire Gamesys B2C estate, including Virgin Casino and Vera John, across US, UK, Far East and North American jurisdictions. Content will then also be available via the Oryx iGaming Platform for worldwide distribution from the single build. We may also be required to integrate content to other platforms for specific operator requirements – This will require adapted engine builds from time to time. Though our main focus is online casino content delivery, we expect to be adapting some of our content to retail environments over a period of time.
You will help design, develop and maintain server-side game engine code, working with the team to apply best development practise. You will collaborate to get the most of and grow everyone's skills, and to create quality, maintainable code. You will continuously improve the team's tools and processes. You will also be actively part of the code reviews. You are happy to learn and adapt new technologies.
Requirements
At least 2 years direct casino content development experience, particularly slots games (Online or Retail)
Experience with server-side Java and specifically, game engine development
Robust code tested with good development testing practices, such as unit, integration testing and automation testing
Good understanding of software development principles and design patterns
Desirable Skills - any of these are a plus!
Python, C/C++, C#, NodeJS
Relational databases and SQL
Build tools, such as Maven
Comfortable with Unix style commands
RESTful services
Experience with Continuous Delivery - DevOps mindset
DevOps including Ansible, Docker and working with continuous integration pipelines
Source control software, such a git
Ability to undertake international travel from time to time
