With over 75% annual growth, our client is scaling for international expansion, our unprecedented development plans demand an experienced Platform Owner or Product Owner to drive Product and Technical initiatives in an Agile environment. The role is part of the software development teams and is responsible to deliver projects in collaboration with other stakeholders and departments, building the next generation of payments optimization technology.
Overview of the Role
Based in Malta, the Platform Owner will represent the Product team and Software Developer Guilds as ‘customers’ to the Software Engineering teams. He/she will take feature requirements from these customers, participates actively in solutioning workshops, represent the requirements in Story format for software developers to implement, and actively own the software delivery aspect of the project. The role is also responsible for the Product Backlog and its prioritisations, facilitating the Scrum ceremonies and accepting developers work through Acceptance Testing.
Defining the platform vision, interacting and collaborating with Product and Technical Teams to understand their requirements.
Manages the product backlog, ordering the items to best achieve goals and missions. Backlog items are clearly expressed into stories and Definition of Done.
Prioritizing needs, juggling the triangle of scope, budget, and time, weighing priorities according to the needs and objectives of stakeholders.
Overseeing development stages, participating in the Scrum ceremonies with the software engineering team.
Be proactive on the software development solution, anticipating the customer needs.
Acting as primary liaison between the development team and the customer.
Evaluating progress at each iteration, making sure that the development team delivers the required value from the stories and accepts the implemented solution with the expected quality.
3+ years of experience in Product Owner or Platform Owner role working closely with a software development team.
Have good understanding of Software delivery process in an Agile environment, ideally with previous software development experience.
Business analysis skills and a good Storyteller, to transform requirements into software development tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, advocating open communication with the team and stakeholders.
Assertive and conflict resolver, to deal with different stakeholders and empower developers to find right people to effectively clear the path to execution.
Committed to the project, vision, team and the business.
Be a driver, taking decisions and motivating the software development team to deliver value from requirements.
Experience in the FinTech industry (Issuing, Acquiring, Payments, etc) is a plus
