This team have a great job opportunity for a Senior Enterprise Risk Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. You will be accountable for the successful development and delivery of their transformation programme by introducing special measures to accelerate business and financial performance.

Your key job responsibilities as the Senior Enterprise Risk Manager in Johannesburg will include:

  • Identify emerging risks within the Non-Technology landscape and report to relevant stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Contribute to establishing and quantifying ‘risk appetite’ concerning Non-Technology risks, i.e. the level of risk MTN is prepared to accept, in conjunction with the General Manager and Executive
  • Establish Enterprise and Non-Technology Risk Management programme within the second line of defense model, to align with the Group’s overarching Risk Management Framework
  • Establish, develop and manage the Risk programme methodology and principles for Non-Technology to deal with abnormal or unstable situations within Strategic, Financial, Operational or Compliance areas that may threaten strategic objectives, reputation and/or viability
  • Develop and implement risk policies concerning Non-Technology and seek approval from the Group Risk Committee
  • Retain overall accountability and responsibility for the various policies, including development, review, update and implementation
  • Develop fit-for-purpose solutions that meet all business requirements and that lead to a best possible scenario in mitigating Financial, Operational and Compliance risks
  • Monitor implementation of action plans to ensure risk mitigation efforts are proceeding, as required

Requirements for this Senior Enterprise Risk Manager job in Johannesburg:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Risk Management/Financial Risk
  • Post graduate MBA and/or master’s degree is advantageous
  • Professional qualification in Risk Management (FRM, PRMIA ORM, CRISC) is advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years of Senior Management Experience, with at least 3 – 5 years in a Finance and/or Operations and/or Compliance environment, in a medium to large organisation
  • Experience in risk management of multi-currency OpCo Revenue streams and complex Operational environments
  • Understanding of various international risk management standards
  • Experience in working across diverse cultures and geographies (advantageous)
  • Understanding of emerging markets is advantageous
