One of South Africa’s top independent advertising agencies are looking for a Senior Brand Planner to join their team in Johannesburg. The Senior Brand Planner is a key member of the collaborative team of agency disciplines including Creative, Account Management, Media, and Digital. This job takes a lead in developing multicultural consumer relevant brand and creative strategies, and works with all creative teams to guide communication development ensuring that they are on strategy and the message is delivered consistently and in appropriate channel. An understanding and experience leveraging current and emerging digital and social media channels is a must

Your job duties as the Senior Brand Planner in Johannesburg will include:

  • Provide a comprehensive context for strategic development by monitoring business, consumer, and cultural trends
  • Build collaborative relationships with all agency disciplines and together develop the creative strategy and maintain an on-going dialog throughout the communication development process
  • Write insightful and inspiring Creative Fuel briefs
  • Leverage all secondary research resources curating relevant information that may have an impact on client’s business
  • Develop qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to add additional insight as needed
  • Moderate/facilitate qualitative research
  • Prepare for and lead Brand Truth Workshops leading to leverageable and compelling brand strategies
  • Create client presentations that convincingly demonstrate the agency’s strategic and creative recommendations and their subsequent effectiveness

Requirements for this Senior Brand Planner job in Johannesburg:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in multicultural brand/account planning in an agency environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising or 5 years’ relevant work experience in lieu of degree
  • Comprehensive knowledge of research methodologies along with strong analytic skills
  • Able to work with challenging clients (know when to hold and when to fold)
  • Strong presentation and writing skills
