Job Description

The engineer will be part of the technical team driving the DevOps processes and maintaining the smooth running of the existing systems and collaboration between product management, software engineering and operations.

The role falls under the Site Operations department, which will be responsible for the smooth running and maintenance of existing systems, installation of new system deployments and offer technical support to internal and external clients. The officer will be part of the Service and Application Management team, which is currently being evolved into a 24x7 manned Network Operation Centre, thus requiring the ability to be on-call or work in shifts. The role will require a blend of strong technical and business knowledge, as well as excellent communication skills to be able to provide a highest level of customer satisfaction. The Junior DevOps Engineer must be a motivated team player that can see projects to completion, work independently and be willing to assist other team members not specific to his/her duties.


Maintain operations and administer the company’s proprietary and ancillary systems to meet all SLAs relating to system performance and uptime
Deliver SLA Reports in time and record monthly KPI metrics on infrastructure and team performance
Use and configure tools to facilitate system monitoring, identification and solution of problems, as well as automated release and disaster recovery processes
Troubleshoot day-to-day issues with application systems and integrated parties and provide technical support to customers and Service Desk using CRM tools
Ability to quickly assess an issue and provide stakeholders with short and long-term course of actions
Manage incidents that may occur
Be part of the release management team, executing releases, tuning and improving the processes and coordinating the related routine and project work involved by the Application Management team as well as other teams involved
Interaction with third-party suppliers and other departments as required
Prepare documentation for tools and processes
Be part of the technical support team with the possibility of working shifts


B.Sc. in ICT, Engineering or equivalent qualification
Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana and Graylog
Good grasp of Software Release Process and other Site Operations processes such as Change Management and Incident Management
SQL skills
Knowledge of current computer security practices
Good verbal/written communication skills
Experience on Linux operating systems and scripting languages, as well as experience with tools used for provisioning (such as Docker, Helm and Ansible), intra-service orchestration (Kubernetes), configuration management (such as Puppet), build orchestration (Jenkins) and continuous delivery (CI/CD pipelines) will be considered an asset
Industry certifications as well as sound knowledge on PCI-DSS will also be considered an asset
