Job Description

Job Purpose 

  • Continue to develop the overall Compliance Strategy and approach for the company in accordance with its strategic objectives and regulatory framework in which it operates;
  • Maintain a robust Compliance and AML framework underpinned by applicable systems, processes and procedures.
  • Be the company’s MLRO and undertake the roles and responsibilities of the MLRO in accordance with regulatory requirements;
  • Provide professional guidance and assistance to all staff in the group to help embed compliance into their daily routine.
  • Act as focal point with regulators, law enforcement and auditors in respect of the license and regulatory obligations of the company.

 
Principal Accountabilities

  • To understand and document regulations that impact the company, ensuring the company has processes and procedures in place to demonstrate compliance with the same;
  • To deliver compliance training and advice across the business
  • To receive suspicious activity reports (SARs) relating to AML and to determine whether they should be submitted to the relevant authorities;
  • Responsible to ensure staff are trained in AML processes and procedures on a routine basis;
  • Primary responsibility for the overall AML risk assessment process including production of an AML policy and reporting suspicious activity policy and ensuring robust processes and procedures exist across the group;
  • Manage 3rd party contracts for compliance screening requirements (International sanctions etc);
  • Ensure effective management of the internal and external communication in relation to anti money laundering regulations;
  • Manage internal investigations of suspicious activity in accordance with the AML policies and procedures and make decisions on whether to submit these to financial intelligent agencies;
  • Ensure effective production and format of case files of evidence for external scrutiny;
  • Advise on new products / business partners from an AML and Compliance perspective;
  • To prepare and provide compliance reports on a routine basis to the Board including recommendations as applicable;
  • To work across the group and help advise and resolve operational compliance / AML issues;
  • To design and implement action plans based on compliance audits and / or changes in regulations as applicable;
  • Other duties as determined by the CEO

 
Knowledge/Experience/Skills 

  • 5+ years Senior management experience within a regulated environment working in a Compliance, Audit, Legal or AML capacity for either a Gaming or Payment entity
  • 5+ years of people management / leadership experience and demonstrable evidence of continuous professional development;
  • Sound education background, such as a degree and / or professional qualification (such as legal / accountancy);
  • Demonstrable experience of setting and implementing corporate strategies and objectives within an organisation;
  • Good working knowledge on principle based, FCA regulations and handbooks and / or demonstrable experience of operating at a Senior level within a licensed organisation;
  • Sound working knowledge of AML and DPA legislation and regulations and demonstrable experience of its application;
  • Sound knowledge of risk management / risk based approaches to work and evidence of implementing similar strategies within an organisation;
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential in the role given the variety of responsibilities.
