We are looking for a strategic thinker, with previous experience within the financial sector in Malta, to join a growing Fintech bank. Do you have what it takes to be a Compliance Manager? We want to hear from you.

What is expected of you?

  • Promote a positive risk and compliance culture within the company.
  • Liaise with other members of the teams to ensure policies, materials and training consider any trends identified;
  • Review and maintenance of the financial crime framework against various requirements.
  • Assist the teams in conducting Sanctions, PEP and Adverse Media screening.
  • Carry out the analysis of upcoming regulatory changes and the impact on company policies and procedures
  • Assist with the recording, monitoring and reporting of complaints
  • Assist with the assessment of training and competency requirements of all employees, along with the development of internal training courses.
  • Produce statutory management information or other reports as requested relating to the compliance function within specified timescales
  • Represent the Head of Compliance in his absence
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of a risk-based monitoring plan, the review, and related reports.
  • Provide advisory coverage in relation to BAU business, and regulatory projects.
  • Assist in the development of product by product Compliance Risk Assessments
  • Develop, execute and maintain the Compliance Monitoring Plan ensuring quality execution, effective Management Information and results
  • Work with Head of Compliance to conduct QA and oversight of other tests conducted by the Compliance Department
  • Work with Management to maintain and update, the Company’s Conduct Risk Programme
  • Undertaking other ad hoc tasks and projects.

What are you expected to bring?

  • Previous Compliance monitoring and framework experience preferably in the financial sector in Malta
  • Able to interact with a variety of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to process complex technical information and understand its implications
  • Able to monitor and review current practices and summarise findings and recommendations;
  • Experience in creating and maintaining work plans
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Able think holistically as well as at a detailed level
  • Able to present management information in a simple and effective way.
