What is expected of you?

  • Offer proactive and practical advice to the company on risk mitigation
  • Maintain and monitor performance of the operational risk programme;
  • Produce detailed management reports ensuring risk registers, dashboards and other risk related MI are current and aligned to the company's risk appetite and ensure risks are well understood, managed and reported on across the company
  • Collaborate with the business to establish a new operational risk management framework and system that will drive the assurance oversight program;
  • Build and maintain relationships, to promote and improve the Risk & Compliance value within the company
  • Embed and undertake effectiveness reviews of operational risk useing appropriate methodology, intelligence gathering and other relevant tools
  • Ensure that a suitable framework is in place to support timely identification and mitigation of Risk & Compliance issues
  • Identify, produce, own and manage the risks involved in running the company, in line with the company Enterprise and Conduct risk frameworks
  • Undertake specific risk assessments to support new products and entry to new jurisdictions
  • Determine impact of any change initiatives on current systems, policies, processes and procedures, document the risk, make recommendations and escalate when appropriate
  • Provide training and support to develop company capability around risk governance
  • Work with the Head of Compliance to implement new policies and procedures
  • Undertake other ad hoc tasks and projects


What are you expected to bring?

  • Previous risk management experience, knowledge of risk management governance and controls
  • Experience producing various documents such as Enterprise, Operational and Conduct risk frameworks
  • Experience within a Financial Institution
  • Comprehensive understanding of Operational Risk frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to persuade, influence and build rapport with others and able to effectively impart specialist knowledge
  • Able to take responsibility and use initiative
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Expert working knowledge of MS Office – Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
