The Data Analyst/Scientist is based in the firm’s London office and works alongside several overseas teams to deliver business objectives. The ideal candidate is a results-driven individual who can work autonomously. A good understanding of poker is essential in order to perform this role to a required standard. This experience may be a personal one, as a regular poker player. The role is pivotal in the successful building of our platforms’ data management systems 

Analyst responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • use advanced analytics to contribute to key decisions
  • deliver advanced analytical projects within a fast-paced environment
  • apply data to areas such as campaign analysis, new project launching
  • aid company growth by identifying complex data patterns, high end and ARPU
  • explore new techniques to enhance reporting accuracy
  • manage stakeholders (understand requirements, provide timely updates on progress and explanations for any changes to the roadmap, etc.)
  • proactively organise interaction with various teams within teams

Scientist responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • understand and evaluate new business challenges
  • design solutions to complex data challenges
  • develop a data management dashboard
  • independently develop data models
  • develop an anti-cheating alert system specifically for poker
  • develop a method for detecting and disposing of bots

Experience and Qualifications required:

  • experience in the online gaming/gambling
  • good knowledge of poker (this may be personal, as a regular poker player)
  • MSc/PhD in one of the quantitative areas, such as Statistics or Mathematics
  • experience in data mining, advanced analytics (clustering, regression, predictive models or similar)
  • practical experience working with statistical tools such as Python/R
  • proficient at extracting and working with large data sets using SQL/MicroStrategy, or similar
